That post title sounded like a pitch in a get rich quick scheme.  Honestly though you can double or even triple your closet space in about 30 minutes by purchasing at least one wardrobe storage cabinet.  So what exactly is a wardrobe storage cabinet?  Well it’s a portable closet in a way.  It allows you to store your clothes, whether they’re off season or just extra clothes in a separate location that is safe and avoid the clothes from getting damaged or wrinkled.  You can even use the storage cabinet as a portable closet.  So how do you do this exactly?

Well everyone I know has a mechanical room in their home that just had a concrete floor and is nothing special.  Some people store a few things in there, but generally they aren’t very clean areas and people would never store clothes there.  This is where having a few wardrobe storage cabinets is so great.  They are in a way a enclosed closet on wheels that keeps your clothes free from any smell, dirt, or anything else they might come in contact with.

There are a few specific features I would look for when buying one of these wardrobe storage systems though.  The first is to make sure the cabinet has a zipper closure system.  That way you really are keeping the smells out and you know that you clothes are safe inside.  They also make units that actually have hard walls and doors on them.  The second is a sturdy design.  I want a cabinet with a strong pole to hang clothes on that also has wheels so I can roll it around and move it within the mechanical room.  Those are really the only two features I look for.  The third is obvious and that’s price, I always look for as low of a price as possible while still getting the quality I want.

It’s important to remember that a wardrobe storage cabinet is just one of many wardrobe storage solutions out there and there might be a better choice for you.  This was just the one I found that really let me double my closet space.  I now keep my off season clothes in one of these wardrobe storage cabinets down in my basement and when one season end and another starts I swap the clothes.  It’s great to have a closet that isn’t packed full of clothes making it very hard to find the shirt or pair of shoes that you want.  Speaking of shoes, they do make wardrobe storage systems specifically for shoes if you are a person like me and has way to many pair laying around.
